Rives Acoustical Measurement Software

 

The RAM software, Rives Acoustical Measurement, was specifically designed to evaluate the entire room and calibrate the PARC This software has everything ETF and BARE has plus an RTA and it's designed from the ground up on a more stable and robust platform.


Just like the BARE software, most rooms have particular modes, that cause excitation at particular frequencies. These modes can cause bass increases at particular frequency ranges of more than 10 dB. For more information on room modes, go to the Listening Room. These low frequencies can also be very difficult to reduce, as most passive room treatments are ineffective below 200 Hz. The RAM software is specifically designed to calibrate the PARC and optimize the low frequency response. RAM also measures steady state frequency response, time energy curves, and waterfall plots in this region. In addition to these measurements RAM plots the psycho-acoustic response curve. We have found this to be far superior setting up and evaluating the bass response in a room to the typical steady state responses.

In addition to all the features of ETF and BARE, RAM adds an RTA for quicker in room set up.

RAM can be used on a regular PC, and even a laptop, with a less than average soundcard. We do offer a demo version to insure that your soundcard is adequate before purchasing the full version. RAM can also be used with an SPL meter, but it is recommended for more critical measurements that a calibrated microphones be used.
