Well, I couldn't resist at this time of year pulling out my favorite Holiday collections and figuring out what I really like.
1.Vince Guaraldi Trio - A Charlie Brown Christmas. Analog Productions did a 45 RPM re-issue of this as part of the Fantasy series. It's terrific sonically and I've always loved the material.
2.Cantate Domino on the Proprius label. A much more traditional collection of Christmas songs. Possibly one of the best choral recordings I own as well. Both the CD and vinyl are excellent.
3. Nat King Cole - The Christmas Song. Oirignally recorded in 1946 and then re-recorded in 1960. I have the 1960 version which is very good, not the best technically, but how can you deny the voice of Nat King Cole. It has been recently re-released on CD with bonus tracks as well.
