I was skeptical about my husband turning our family room into an audio room. I always had to explain what those strange “tube/cat scratching poles” were to our friends and family. It was embarrassing. Now, after the Rives redo, people just say what a beautiful, cozy, room it is. No one ever asks “what’s that”. I think most people don’t even know it’s acoustically treated. I love the room – I really love the plant ledge that is a bass trap and I love the fact that my husband and I are both happy sharing the room.
Myself - Greg:
My room turned out so well! It has provided me with a very relaxing environment for listening. The acoustics are so much better than I expected and I can listen to music at lower levels and hear everything. I want to listen for hours. Most people, including myself, try to fix bad acoustics with more expensive equipment and cables. You have no idea how bad your room sounds until you address the problems and hear what a dramatic, positive, effect good acoustical engineering can do.
